| Lactalis McLelland Ltd. | | A. McLelland & Son Ltd was founded in 1850. Our beginnings can be traced back to when grocer and grain merchant, Archibald McLelland, bartered his goods in return for fine dairy produce. A great entrepreneur of the Victorian era, he spotted the rapidly growing market in industrial Glasgow and steered his business towards wholesaling, starting with a stall in the cheese sections of Glasgow’s fruit market. By the 20th century, Glasgow has its own cheese market and McLelland became one of the city’s most distinctive merchants. Today, we have joined forces with Lactalis, who have brought their expertise and know-how as Europe’s leading dairy manufacturer. Our company is now known as Lactalis McLelland and we are one of Britain’s largest producers of cheddar cheese. We remain in Glasgow and with our leading brands, we continue to offer the highest quality cheese through all of Britain’s major retailers. | | Visit Website | | Office Address | New Cheese Market, Black Street
