| I was quite confused about my career options, when I approached
GIIP, as very few opportunities existed for Aerospace Engineers in our Country.
I tried for a job with some of the leading Companies in Aerospace, but did not
get lucky. The job offered by one of the Companies was not suitable to my
Engineering background, so I denied the job. The others wanted me to do
Masters or PhD before applying for a job. I was left with two options, to
take up a job as a software programmer with an IT company or spend few more
years studying and then pursue a career in the Aerospace sector.
During this confusion, I was considered joining LLB course, when I came across the
subject of Intellectual Property Rights. Soon I realized that by becoming a
patent professional, I will be able to justify my technical knowledge
acquired during B-Tech and it would also allow me to pursue a techno-legal career
in future.

| I could not find placement after completing my Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Communication in 2009. I attended a workshop in field of Intellectual Property Rights, organized by GIIP and found the subject interesting; however, I could not convince my father to allow me to join the GIIP’s Post Graduate Diploma program. So, we both visited GIIP for a career counseling session with one of GIIP’s International Faculty and Mentor. To my surprise, my father (who himself is an Engineer) found the field of patents fascinating and granted me permission to join the PG Diploma program immediately. The program had commenced by the time I decided to join, but GIIP’s faculty helped me to cover up on the missed classes and I performed well in the program.
Post completion of the Diploma program I found placement as a Patent Engineer with Glocon KPO solutions (US based firm with office at New Delhi India). In span of 5 years, I have filed and prosecuted more than 200 Indian patent |
