Established in 1969 as a maker of eight-track cassettes, the firm is now the largest provider of pre-recorded multimedia products (DVDs, CDs, and other forms of home entertainment) for movie studios, music labels, video game publishers, and software firms in North America and Europe. Cinram has the capacity to make some 2.3 billion DVDs per year. It also has printing, packaging, and distribution operations, and provides distribution and logistics services to telecommunications firms through its wireless subsidiaries.
