The LCD is an innovative, fast-growing and easy-to-use technology. LCD monitors are rapidly replacing the bulky CRT monitor. Space savings and energy efficiency are the major reason for the movement towards LCD technology. LCD monitors are highly adaptable, they are not affected by magnetic fields, and can be repaired more economically.

LCD technology is being adopted in a wide variety of applications such as desktop monitors, Kiosks, and point of sale displays. With the advent of lower larger LCD panels and lower production costs LCD technology is now entering the Electronic sign and Information Display Market that historically has been dominated by Plasma monitors. LCD's are the best solution for Information Display applications because of higher brightness, high contrast as well as a longer lifetime than Plasma displays. Unlike Plasma displays, LCD technology is not affected by the severe problem of burn-in, which is relevant when static picture/text are continuously displayed for a long time.
