In December 2007, Amax entered into the gaming intermediary business in Macau via AMA International Limited ( “AMA” ) in which it will have an effective 80% interest through a series of profit transfer agreements. AMA commenced operations in mid-December 2007. Altira Macau (formerly Crown Macu) collaborated with AMA and completed its property reconfiguration to accommodate the additional VIP gaming business, which has proven immediately successful. AMA is on track to capture a sizable share of the profitable VIP gaming market segment and has already begun to transform the earnings profile and growth path of the Amax group.
