| AMERCO |  | AMERCO, through its subsidiary, U-Haul International, Inc., supplies products and services used to move and store household and commercial goods in the United States and Canada. It operates in four segments: Moving and Storage, Property and Casualty Insurance, Life Insurance, and SAC Holding II. The Moving and Storage segment engages in the rental of trucks, trailers, specialty rental items, and self-storage spaces primarily to the household mover, as well as sale of moving supplies, towing accessories, and propane. The Property and Casualty Insurance segment offers moving and storage protection packages, including Safemove and Safetow that provide moving and towing customers with a damage waiver, cargo protection, and medical and life coverage; and Safestor, which protects storage customers from loss on their goods in storage. The Life Insurance segment provides life and health insurance products primarily to the senior market through the direct writing or reinsuring of life insurance, medicare supplement, and annuity policies. The SAC Holding II segment owns self-storage properties that are managed by U-Haul under property management agreements and acts as independent U-Haul rental equipment dealer. As of March 31, 2009, AMERCO rental fleet consisted of approximately 101,000 trucks, 76,000 trailers, and 34,000 towing devices. AMERCO also operated approximately 1,400 U-Haul retail centers and approximately 200 fixed-site repair facilities.
