| OPTI Canada Inc. |  | OPTI Canada is doing its best to optimize the value of Canadian oil sands. OPTI Canada Inc. uses its OrCrude technology to upgrade bitumen without natural gas, providing a more cost-efficient method of processing. Combined with other processes, the technology is expected to produce high-quality synthetic crude from oil sands. OPTI Canada is in a joint venture with energy company Nexen to develop the Long Lake Project in the Athabasca oil sands area of Alberta. The project is the first to integrate in-situ bitumen recovery with on-site upgrading.
