Its Sponsored Investments segment transports crude oil and other liquid hydrocarbons through common carrier and feeder pipelines, as well as transports, gathers, processes, and markets natural gas and natural gas liquids; owns a crude oil and liquids pipeline and gathering system, a 50% interest in the Canadian portion of Alliance Pipeline, and partial interests in various green energy investments. The company was formerly known as IPL Energy Inc. and changed its name to Enbridge Inc. in October 1998.
